RAJOURI, APRIL 09: District administration Rajouri today organized a Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation awareness programme here during which Electoral Photo Identity cards were distributed among the newly-registered voters.
The programme was held under the supervision of District Election Officer Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
During the event, the DEO distributed EPICs to the newly registered voters of the district. The event was organized to encourage young voters to participate in the biggest festival of democracy.
Around 12,500 EPICs were distributed to the first-time voters in a single day in all the four assembly constituencies- Nowshera, Kalakote, Darhal and Rajouri.
The DEO asked the first-time voters to participate actively in the democratic process of the country to strengthen it by using their right to franchise, without fear, and inducement during the Lok Sabha Elections-2019.
He said the young voters should play their role in educating the general public on the importance of asserting their democratic right and casting votes in elections.
Meanwhile, District Election Officer also released the district election badge. The badge will be given to polling personnel who will wear it on the day of polling.
