SVEEP campaign:  Series of Voters’ sensitization programmes held in Kargil

KARGIL, APRIL 09: The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP) campaign team today organized series of awareness and sensitization programmes here at Jawahar Navodaya Vidayalaya (JNV), Kendriya Vidayalaya (KV) and Government Higher Secondary School Trespone.

The daylong events began with a drawing competition at KV Trespone Kargil wherein the students took part enthusiastically. Speaking on the occasion Principal KV K.S Pathania  highlighted the importance of voting and urged the students to act as messengers of democracy by conveying the message to their parents and relatives. SVEEP Nodal Officer Muhammad Shabir appreciated the beautiful drawings made by the students.

This was followed by a program at JNV Kargil where  a Volleyball match was played between SVEEP Team Kargil and JNV Team at JNV Playground Khumbathang. The match was followed by a candle lighting march, displaying the official logo of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

A special stamp was designed with “Go Vote” and “Date of Poll”. The students stamped it on their hands to spread the message   about the importance of voting.

Meanwhile the students of KV also performed a skit on the importance of voting.

The students at GHSS Trespone were administered the voters pledge. They were informed about the various modes of information   employed by the DEO for dissemination of information through various mediums including AIR Kargil, Print Media, Local Cable Networks, Social Media, Mobile VFCs, Apps etc.

The students formed a human chain in the shape of “INDIA” urging the countrymen to “Go Vote”.

The Chief Guest at GHSS Trespone was Master Muhammad Hussain (PwD Icon).

Speaking to the media, Master Hussain said that it was the duty of every Indian to “Go Vote”.

Hands on demonstration of EVMs and VVPATs was also held on the occasion.
