JAMMU: Going high-tech, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has coded the Yatra Permit Forms for this year’s annual pilgrimage with a Quick Response Code (QR Code) and Bar Code for effective enumeration and tracking of pilgrims embarking on Yatra routes.
This initiative of the Board will help in real time monitoring of the movement of Yatris on both the Yatra tracks of Baltal axis as well as of Pahalgam Axis, enabling the officials involved in the Yatra management to provide timely assistance in case of weather vagaries or any other emergency.
This will help Enforcement Agencies at the Access Control Gates to quickly count the Yatris and regulate the Yatra.
This was informed by CEO, Umang Narula on Wednesday.
“These Yatra Permit Forms are in different colours for each day and each route,” he said.
Narula stressed that, for ensuring effective security arrangements along the difficult tracks, only those Yatris who are in possession of a Yatra Permit which is valid for a specified date and route will be allowed to proceed beyond the Base Camps, and cross the Entry Gates at Domel and Chandanwari.
He appealed to all intending Yatris to complete the necessary formalities for Registration in advance and obtain a Yatra Permit well in time, in their own interest, so that they do not face any inconvenience when they embark on their Yatra.
The Advance Registration of pilgrims for Shri Amarnathji Yatra had commenced on 1st April 2019 through 442 designated Bank branches of Punjab National Bank, Jammu & Kashmir Bank and YES Bank all over the country.
This year’s 46 days Yatra shall commence simultaneously on both the routes from 1st July 2019 and culminate on Raksha Bandhan, the 15th August 2019.
