Gurugram,April 30 :A man shot his wife in the knee after she took part in a fashion show organised by the school she was working for in Gurugram on Sunday.
The incident took place when the man reached the venue to fetch his wife. When the wife refused, he pulled out a gun in a fit of rage and shot at her, reported The Times of India.
Asha Rani alias Anshu aged 32 has been working as a teacher at the school for the past few months. On Sunday, the school had organized a party and a fashion show for its staff at a city club.
Asha Rani wanted to participate in the fashion show, however, her husband was against it. He did not raise an issue with her attending the party.
At 11:30 pm, Inderjit, the victim’s husband reached the school to bring his wife back. He was furious to not find her at the school.
He then called her and accused her of lying to him, following which the victim shared her WhatsApp location with her husband.
On reaching the venue, the accused called her and when she refused to come back with him, he shot at the large screen that had his wife’s image on it.
When a shocked Anshu saw Inderjit and tried to pacify him, he shot at her knee.
According to the police, nobody came to the rescue of Anshu as she kept bleeding. Later, a club employee informed the police and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
After the police recorded Anshu’s statement, they filed a case against Inderjit and Jitu (who accompanied him) under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and the Arms Act.
“We collected three bullet shells and CCTV footage of three cameras,” said Badshapur SHO, Mukesh Kumar, adding that police are trying to track the two accused, who are on the run, reported TOI.
Police further said that the accused has three cases – one each of murder, attempt to murder and Arms Act – registered against him in Delhi. “We’re trying to locate him,” he said, adding Anshu is currently undergoing treatment.
Anshu got married to Inderjit a decade ago. The accused hails from Mitrao village in Delhi. They couple have two children and live in a rented house.
