NEW DELHI: Ramzan, the holy month of fasting in Islam, will begin from Tuesday.

A spokesperson of Delhi’s Jama Masjid said the moon was not sighted Sunday night and hence fasting will begin from May 7.

Ramzan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar when Muslims abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramzan.
