Notorious drug peddler held in north Kashmir’s Sopore, banned drugs seized

Srinagar, May 7: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler on the outskirts of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official said a police team signalled a motorcyclist to stop at a naka set up at Achabal crossing in Sopore.

He said the motorcyclist was apprehended while two pillion riders managed to escape from the spot.

3000 Spasmoproxivan capsules were recovered from the possession of the motorcyclist identified as Muhammad Safi Lone of Nadihal Rafiabad, said the official.

He said the trio were carrying capsules with the aim of distributing them among the youth in Sopore town.

An FIR No 112/019 under sections 8/22 NDPS has been lodged at police station Sopore and a manhunt has been launched to nab the other two persons who were identified as Arshid Farooq Lone of Saidpora Rafiabad and Muzafar Ahmad Shah alias Nund Shah of Adipora Sopore.
