Doda: Doda, a small town where night life has been missing for the past three decades due to insurgency, is witnessing a slow, but steady transformation.
For the first time ever, a mega cultural evening was organised by the CRPF at Sports Stadium here to pay tributes to the Pulwama martyrs. Bollywood playback singer Jaspinder Narula along with famous artistes from the state held the audience spellbound.
The event was hosted as part of a week-long programme being organised by the CRPF at various places in Jammu province to pay homage to the martyrs. Senior officials of the local administration and security forces were present.
The Commandant, 76 Battalion, said, “It was a challenging task to host such a big cultural event in the remote area. Hardly any artiste was ready to perfume here. I express my gratitude to Jaspinder Narula for accepting our request.”
Jaspinder Narula said, “When the CRPF contacted us, I felt privileged. I have great respect for security forces and I am always ready to perform for them. The Pulwama incident shook us and I wanted to pay homage to our martyrs. People here are very enthusiastic and they love artistes.”
