Seminar on forest fire prevention held at Chowki Choura

JAMMU, MAY 08: To raise awareness about the importance of forests and protection of the green gold from fire incidents, a seminar was held at Chowki Choura here in which Sarpanches, Panches and other concerned participated.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Chowki Choura Chand Kishore Sharma was the guest of honour while as Divisional Forest Officer Jammu Sat Paul Pakhroo was the chief guest.

On the occasion, SDM Sharma exhorted upon the local representatives to come forward and contribute their bit in raising awareness about the forest fire incidents and ways to prevent it.

The SDM exhorted the Sarpanches and Panches to report the incidence of forest fire immediately to the concerned revenue and forest officials.

In his address, the chief guest Sat Paul Pakhroo also exhorted the Sarpanches to develop coordination with forest officials for the prevention of forest fires.

He also motivated them to go for plantation in a big way to keep a check on the ecological imbalance. 

Among others, Tehsildar Chowki Choura, Naib Tehsildar, BDO, AEE PHE, Range Officer, AE PDD, AEO forest officials also attended the programme.
