Kishtwar Admin set to plant 30000 mulbery plants this year
DC reviews progress in horti, cattle, fish farming
KISHTWAR, MAY 09: District administration Kishtwar has set the target of planting 30, 000 mulberry saplings and produce 6, 000 kg Cocoon this year.
The department of sericulture will enhance the target of planting mulberry saplings from 20,000 to 30, 000 saplings, even as it has set the target of producing 6, 000kg in the district, District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Angrez Singh Rana directed here at a meeting where he reviewed the achievements of Fisheries, Sericulture, Horticulture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry Departments.
CAHO Kishtwar, CHO Kishtwar, AD Fisheries, besides Officers from horticulture, Sheep husbandry, Social forestry and Soil Conversation were present in the meeting.
AD Fisheries apprised the DDC about the current status of construction of fish ponds in the district. The DDC directed the AD to ensure construction of fish ponds in time bound manner.
The Sheep Husbandry department was asked to rotate the RAMS from one block to another block in order to prevent inbreeding and improve the cross breeding.
CAHO informed that the repair and renovation work of hatchery has been completed. He informed that new generator has been procured and shall be installed within 2-3 days to facilitate round the clock power supply to the hatchery.
The meeting was informed that for increasing the milk production artificial insemination has been doubled from 5,000 to 10,000 in the district.
SDM Paddar was directed to identify 100 Kanal state land in Atholi and 300 Kanal land at Kabban for establishment of Yak Breeding farms.
Regarding Horticulture department, the CHO informed that 104 Poly green houses have been distributed this year. The DDC directed to fix the target of distributing 150 Poly Green houses among the farmers for the current fiscal year.
