DDC Shopian reviews rural development works .

Shopian 22 May :  District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr Owais Ahmad  today convened a meeting of officers and executing agencies of Rural Development Department to review the progress achieved in all blocks. 

Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting regarding expenditure incurred, achievements and works under progress.

Giving brief account of physical and financial achievements the ACD informed that the department has issued 28151 job cards to rural labour and 7 lakh mandays have been generated in all blocks .A total of 1843 works have been completed with an estimated cost of 16,18,33,000 during 2018-19. It was said that under PMAY scheme 321 beneficiaries were benefitted and 95 houses were completed.

 
While deliberating upon the role of Rural Development Department in achieving the new heights of development in rural areas the District Development Commissioner, impressed upon the concerned for maintaining the norms and works to be completed within the stipulated time frame so that rural population is able to get the benefits of the schemes of the department.

The District Development Commissioner stressed on the inclusion of convergence mode projects. He stressed upon the need to complete all the works within stipulated time and to ensure the quality of work undertaken and for proper utilization of funds.

 Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchayat officer, all BDOs, were present in the meeting.
