JKDERS organizes excursion for students
JAMMU, MAY 22: Jammu and Kashmir Directorate of Environment and Remote Sensing, (DERS) today organised a Paryavaran Excursion for the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Roopnagar, Muthi to Sulah Park, Forest Division Reasi on the occasion of celebration of International Biodiversity Day,2019.
The students of the school and members of the faculty participated in the event.
Meanwhile, eco-friendly material was distributed among the students and faculty to discourage the use of plastic and polythene products. The students had the first hand knowledge of the trees and other fauna surrounding them.
In sync with the theme of this year viz Food Habits and Biodiversity, DFO, Environment/ Environmental Soil Conservationist, Jammu Kuldeep Kumar,apprised the students about the adverse effects of our food habits on Environment and Biodiversity.
