Jammu, May 24: A man was reportedly assaulted and his wife was gang raped in the area falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor Police Station.
Sources said that a man along with his wife on April 18 intercepted by four youth near Nonath bridge followed by two youth held the man hostage and two other raped his wife. Thereafter, they threatened the couple of dire consequences if they disclosed the episode to anyone and escaped from the spot.
However, the couple reached Police Post Chowki Choura and gave a written complaint in Police Post Chowki Choura stated the full story.
A case under section 341, 323 and 376-D RPC has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and hunt has been launched to nab the rapists.
