Cow vigilantes thrash 3 people on suspicion of carrying beef in MP

Madhya Pradesh, May 25: Two Muslim youths and a woman were thrashed by cow vigilantes in Seoni in Madhya Pradesh, allegedly on the suspicion of carrying beef.  

According to India Today, the three were reportedly travelling in an auto-rickshaw, when someone tipped off the gau rakshaks that the victims were carrying beef.  In the video that is doing the rounds on social media, one of the youths can be seen tied up to a tree and being beaten up by the mob using sticks.

Several onlookers can be seen standing around them. The youth is then forced to hit the woman who was travelling with them.  The mob can be heard asking the man to say “Jai Shree Ram” as he hits the woman with a shoe.   

According to Deccan Chronicle, the police have arrested five people for mercilessly beating up the victims. One of the accused include Ram Sena leader Shubham Baghel.
