RAMBAN, JUNE 06: A checking squad comprising officers and officials of Pollution Control Board, Forest Protection Force and Municipality Committee conducted market checking here in the main town and seized about 16 kg of banned polythene carry bags from shopkeepers, fruit and vegetable vendors.
The team also checked the rates and quality of fruits, vegetables, milk, general stores, dhabas.
Officers warned the traders to desist from using unfair trade practices, overcharging and stressed for maintaining sanitation and display of rate list and stickers. They also appealed to the consumers to remain vigilant while purchasing the commodities.
The shopkeepers were also instructed to abstain from use of banned polythene carry bags below 50 microns in thickness and warned for action if such violations are observed in future.
