New Delhi, June 3: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will continue with his role in the new government at Centre. He has now been given a Cabinet rank for the NSA’s role.
Ajit Doval has been appointed as the NSA for another five years.
According to government sources, Ajit Doval’s work in the previous has earned him the Cabinet rank in the second chapter of the Modi government. He was earlier placed in the Minister of State rank.
The 74-year-old Ajit Doval earlier headed the Intelligence Bureau (IB) before he took on the new role of NSA.
India conducted two of the most significant anti-terror operations under the watch of Ajit Doval in the past few years. In 2016, the Indian Army conducted the surgical strikes on Pakistan in the aftermath of the Uri terror attack while in 2018, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted airstrikes in Pakistan after the Pulwama terror attack.
