PCCF inspects development works of Udhampur Forest Division
Jammu, June 03: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests today visited Udhampur Forest Division and inspected various development works undertaken last year.
He was apprised that during last year an area of 4216 hectare was taken up for afforestation under CAMPA in the state. The plan for the current year was also discussed.
The PCCF visited some of the closures raised under the scheme at Mand, Kasal, Patnitop, etc. He also inspected Nursery at Mand and Kasal where conifers like Chir, Kail and Deodar is being raised along with other species like Silver oak, Neem, Dalbergia sissoo, Taxus, and fir. He asked the staff to raise quality plants for plantation during the monsoon and winter plantation season.
The PCCF asked the DFO to keep the staff on alert to deal with fire and encroachment incidents.
Regarding Minor Forest Produce auctions, he asked the DFO to send proposals at the earliest so that the department gets remunerative price for the produce.
Later, the PCCF inspected some under construction buildings at Kasal and Patnitop and asked for timely completion.
The PCCF was accompanied by Chief Conservator of Forest Sameer Bharti, Divisional Forest officer, Shweta Jandial and Range officer HQ Mr Abrol and other foresters and guards.
