Shopian 25 June:The  6th day of  innovative flagship progarm ‘Back to Village’ saw huge participation and enthusiasm of people in 33 panchayats of the district, with visiting officers undertaking public meetings and inspections to assess status of public services available in these areas. People raised demands and issues concerning their areas and sought timely redresal of their grievances.

At Heerpora, DDC Shopian Dr Owais Ahmed along with Dr. Ab Hafiz Shah, Director Floricultural,  conducted interaction programme in which a large number of people participated.
People raised a number of issues concerning development of their areas with a candid expression of their expectations. It was noticed that their should be immediate construction of approach Road and bridge from Heerpora to Dachno where people are facing lot of problems due to unavailability of concrete road. While interacting with DDC, Students of Higher Secondary School Heerpora demand establishment of Science Laboratory, Library and Playground in the school. Dr Owais instructed form immediate redressal of demands of students and also assured the public that all the genuine issues will be resolved in coming days. On the occasison, the DDC also presented a sports kit to the students of various schools of the Panchayat.

Dr. Owais also inspected various Stalls Installed by different Govt departments  especially Agriculture, Horticulture, sericulture,Floriculture, social welfare and Handicrafts to aware the people regarding various centre and state sponsored schemes at Mega Mela organised at Heerpora.

On the occasion DDC  congratulated the officers who keenly interacted with the public and noted their greviances. He also thanked locals for their participation and highlighting common issues of the area. He said that the programme has brought additional vibrancy in the working of the administration at all levels—facilitating interaction between people of district and the civil administration. Public feedback is very essential in accelerating developmental activities at grassroot level. He added.

Meanwhile, in Aglar Litter, Visiting Officer, Director Finance Reyaz Ahmad interacted with the people and took stock of the various ongoing developmental activities in the area.
The villagers projected various demands like drinking water, bridges, augmentation of PDD infra, construction of Panchayat Ghar, up gradation of PHC, subsidy on agriculture implements, repair of link roads, playgrounds, protection bunds besides benefits from other welfare schemes.

A number of inspections of public services were also carried out during the day in other Panchayat Halqas where designated officers  record the  grievances and concerns
which will be submitted to the higher-ups for redressal.
