New Delhi, June 27:Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is in Delhi on Thursday to meet government ministers on a range of issues concerning the welfare of the state.

Top on priority is an evening meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah with whom Singh is expected to review the progress on the Indian side of the Kartarpur corridor.

The state is likely to ask the Centre to expedite its financial allocation release to ensure the project is completed in time for the pilgrimage to Pakistan to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

Singh will also meet Food Supplies minister Ram Vilas Paswan to urge reconciliation of the outstanding Rs 31,000 crore financial burden on Punjab due to the food account.

Singh will also meet Transport minister Nitin Gadkari to flag pending road projects in the state.

It’s not clear if Singh has sought time to meet UPA chief Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi to discuss cabinet colleague Navjot Sidhu’s continuing sulking after Singh changed Sidhu’s portfolio, from local bodies to power.

Sidhu demanded his department back and also insisted on the post of deputy CM.

Amarinder has put his foot down. But Sidhu has not yet taken charge of his new department since he met Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Ahmed Patel in Delhi sometime back.
