JAMMU, JULY 1: A delegation of teachers who have been agitating against DDC Kishtwar’s controversial order regarding salary, met the Director School Education Jammu, Ms. Anuradha Gupta and submitted a memorandum outlining their demands where as a delegation of Contingent Paid Workers ( CPW) met the Director to discuss their regularisation issue.

Today morning, a teaching community delegation comprising of members from all the associations of District Kishtwar including All J&K Plus 2 Lecturer Forum kishtwar, Joint Employees Front, All J&K RETT Forum, Teachers Joint Action Committee and United Senior Teachers Association met with the Director School Education Jammu, Ms. Anuradha Gupta and apprised her of their stand on the issue of salary withdrawal order passed by the DDC kishtwar.

The delegation submitted to the worthy director that the DDC kishtwar has been singling out the education department and the recent order passed by him is nothing less than a direct attack on the dignity of the teaching staff and the officers governing them.

Actually the DDC Kishtwar has passed an order requiring the teaching community to get their attendances verified by at least ten parents and the teachers are looking at it as an unnecessary appendage since there is already a check and balance system in place like in every other department.

The delegation had detailed delibrations with the Director over the issue and Ms. Anuradha Gupta assured them that the matter will be solved amicably. On Ms.Anuradha Gupta’s intervention, the teachers’ associations decided to call off their strike for the next three days to give the administration enough time to revise and revoke the controversial order.

Another delegation of CPWs met the Director to discuss their regularisation issue and were assured by her that soon a Google link would be provided to the employees on which they will be required to upload their eligibility documents duly signed by the DDOs so that the process of registration can be geared up.
