Poonch: Awake India arranged a ‘Mehfil-Mushaira in memory of “Mehmood-ul-Hasan Mehmood” to pay a tribute to his great poetic genius and contribution to urdu literature which was attended by renowned poets and personalities. The mushaira was presided over by renowned poet Khursheed Kirmani and proceedings were conducted by Dr. Amjad Ali Babar.
While reading out the welcome address, Ayaz Mughal, Chairman Awake India underlined the importance of such literary functions and threw light on the life of Mehmood-ul-Hasan Mehmood and his contributions to the literature.
Nazak Hussain Shah, presented the research paper on the life and work of Mehmood-ul-Hasan Mehmood.
A book named “Auj-e-Khayal” compilation of poetry by Masood-ul-Hasan ‘Masood’ was also released by Jahangir Mir, Ex Deputy Chairman Legislative Council and K.K.Kapoor.
Eminent poets including Pervez Malik, Sajjad Poonchi, Ayaz Saif, Haroon Rathore, Mujahid Mughal, Amjad Ali Babar, Mohtshim Ahtsham, Nazarat Fareed, Alamdar Adam, Hafiz Riaz Mir, Dr. Khalil Reshi, Sadeeq Ahmed Sadeequie recited their poeteries.
