Chandigarh, July 21: Three nightclubs were found open after the prescribed hours during a raid conducted by the UT police on the intervening night of July 20 and 21. Two nightclubs in Sector 26 and one in the Industrial Area were found flouting the orders of the DM during a special drive conducted by the police. 

DSP (East) Dilsher Chandel raided Para Disco at Centra Mall, Phase I, at 1 am and found that a party was on. The police said the music was being played at a high pitch, leading to noise pollution.

A case against club manager Rajinder Chauhan, a resident of Zirakpur, was registered at the Industrial Area police station. He was arrested and later released on bail.

The police team, led by the DSP (East), then raided a club, Play Ground, in Sector 26 at 1.30 am and found it open.

The police said club owner Sunder Pal failed to produce any proof regarding permission for opening the club after the prescribed time following which a case was registered against him at the Sector 26 police station. The club owner was arrested and later released on bail.

Around 15 minutes later at 1.45 am, the police team reached a night club, Culture, and found it open after the prescribed hours. 

The police said workers at the club failed to produce any proof regarding permission. A case was registered against Deepanshu Dawer at the Sector 26 police station. He was arrested and later released on bail.
