Chandigarh, July 26:The Supreme Court Collegium has resolved to recommend advocates Jasgurpreet Singh Puri, Suvir Sehgal, Girish Agnihotri, Alka Sarin and Kamal Sehgal for appointment as judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde and Justice NV Ramana deferred the elevation of Puneet Bali and Vikas Bahl. “The proposals would be taken up for consideration on receipt of certain additional information from the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court,” the Collegium said which also remitted the name of Inder Pal Singh Doabia. The High Court will now have 55 judges against the sanctioned strength of 85.
