JAMMU AND KASHMIR: SIX TERRORISTS KILLED AS ARMY FOILS INFILTRATION BID IN KERAN SECTOR

Two days after Home Minister Rajnath Singh had visited had visit the border area in Keran sector in Kupwara district and met the families of the area, the Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt by killing six terrorists, who had infiltrated to the Indian side of border with heavy arms and ammunition.

This is the third infiltration foiled by alert troops in Keran sector of Kupwara district after the Ramzan unilateral ceasefire. Sources in the Army told Mirror that a group of armed terrorists were seen hiding in the forest area near the line of control. Army’s 14 RR cordoned off Raynar forest area, following which terrorists hiding in the area opened fire upon them, triggering off a brief exchange of gunfire. Additional reinforcements of Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police were rushed to the area.

The source said that the operation was suspended in the wake of darkness and on Sunday early morning, during the search operation, the hiding terrorists fired again, and in the exchange the terrorists were killed.
