Secretary School Education, Director School Education Jammu review developmental activities in Udhampur

 UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 24: Commissioner Secretary to Government School Education Department, Sarita Chauhan  reviewed the achievements made under key sectors in this District, here at a meeting.

She is incharge Secretary for Udhampur district to monitor the Developmental works and other related issues.  

At the outset, District Development Commissioner Dr Piyush Singla gave a detailed power point presentation on the physical and financial achievements in the key sectors.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajiv Omparkash Pandey, Director School Education, Jammu Anuradha Gupta, Director Samagra, Arun Manhas, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, GM DIC, Suram Chand Sharma,  CEO PDA, Pran Singh, CEO MDA, Nagender Jamwal,  PO ICDS, Rimpy Ohri,  Chief Panning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, SE R&B  Des Raj Bhagat, SE PMGSY,  Manzoor Ahmed, ACD, Neelam Khajuria, ACR, Viqar Giri besides other district officers of all departments  were present in the meeting.

Commissioner Secretary, reviewed   the progress on  mega projects and  centrally sponsored schemes  under taken by different departments like Khelo India , PM-Kisan, PMSYM, BBBP, Ayushman Bharat, Samagra Shiksha, Mid day meal, SMAS, NSAP, Soubhagya, Ujjwala, Ujala, PMAY,PMGSY, MGNREGA,  Horticulture, Agriculture, Handloom, Handicraft and other related issues.

 The DDC apprised that mega projects including Pollution Abatement of Holy River Devika, at the cost of Rs 186.74 Cr, Ropeway Project Patnitop & Mantalai (Yoga Convention Centre), National Highway, Sports Stadium Udhampur and Ramnagar, Solid Waste Management Project Mand & Waste Disposal through Heat, 250 Kg/ hr at Sui-Jakhar (Udhampur), Food Park Chenani, etc are going on and progress on these projects is at different stages.

The CEO Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) briefed about the status of Gandola project and convention center at Mantalai. Secretary  urged the executing agencies to expedite the work and put these facilities to use immediately.

While reviewing NHW, she asked the concerned authority to complete the project work on priority. The NHAI authorities informed that the four laning upto Chenani is expected to complete by July 2020.

About education sector, the meeting was informed that 22 middle Schools have been upgraded to High School whereas 13 High School have been upgraded to Higher Secondary School in the district.

Responding to the issue of shortage of teaching staff, the Secretary directed the Director School Education Jammu to go for rationalization of staff in consultation with Deputy Commissioner to meet out the shortage.

The meeting was further informed that all the households have been electrified in the district and augmentation of transformers is required.

While reviewing the progress of NSAP/ISSS, SMAS, the Secretary asked the concerned officer to expedite the process of sanctioning of pending cases.

 Reviewing Health sector, the secretary was informed about the achievements under different schemes and award received by district hospital. She stressed on expeditious registration under Ayushman Bharat and issuance of golden cards.

 The DDC informed that land for newly sanctioned Udhampur Medical College has been indentified at different locations the proposal was submitted to concerned quarters to finalize the suitable site.

 It was informed that under “Back to school” initiative 2841 school dropouts have been identified through special gram Sabhas held under Udhampur Administration’s “Special Sakshatkaar Sapta” observed from July 20 to July 27, 2019. Similarly 2500 Ayushman Bharat and 6000 eligible pension beneficiaries were also identified at these Gram Sabhas. 

The secretary asked the concerned departments to expedite the works taken up under “languishing project scheme” and complete these within set timeline.

 The Secretary also reviewed the progress made in the construction of campus buildings for newly sanctioned   colleges. She asked the executing agency to complete the same within two years. While reviewing PMGSY projects, the   DFO was asked to follow the cases pending for clearance with forest department at different level.

 The Scheme and projects of Rural Development Department, Agriculture, Horticulture and allied sectors were also reviewed.  It was informed that under RDD main focus is given on water conservation and near about 850 ponds will be constructed in the district. In a special initiative Jeevika project, 90 ponds will be constructed in the Pachute Panchayat under CSR by Agriculture department for BPL families to enhance their livelihood, the meeting was told.

The chair laid stress on mobilization of community and PRIs through awareness programmes so that people can come forward and take the benefits of Govt Schemes under Handloom, Handicraft, Agriculture, Horticulture, fisheries etc.
