Delhi to go to polls on February 8

New Delhi, January 6: The Delhi Assembly poll will be held on February 8, this was announced by the Election Commission here on Monday.

Addressing a press conference here, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said the EC is committed to holding free and fair polls. About 90,000 poll officials will be deployed. There will be about 13,000 polling stations. There are around 1.46 crore voters in Delhi.

The last date of nominations is January 21. The counting will take place on February 11.

The term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly ends on February 22 and a new House has to be constituted before that. PTI
