New Delhi, March 4: The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear activist Harsh Mander’s plea till the controversy over his speech that allegedly criticised the top court was sorted out.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said Mandar had given a speech criticising the top court.

A Bench headed by CJI SA Bobde said till the controversy over his “objectionable speech” is sorted out, it will not take up Mander’s plea for registration of FIRs against BJP leaders for allegedly making hate speeches.

The Bench asked Mehta to authenticate his allegations against Mander by an affidavit.

Mander had allegedly said: “We have no faith in SC but we will go there as we have no choice. But, ultimate justice will be done on the street.”

“We will hear until you settle the issue. If this is what you think about court, then we have to think about how to deal with it,”  the CJI told Mander’s counsel Karuna Nandy.

“Who all have violated the majesty of law? We want to know,” the top court said.

The Supreme Court also sought a response of Mander on the allegations of making hate speech during anti-CAA protests here. The bench has sought the response of Mander’s counsel at 2 pm and the hearing is underway.
