POONCH, JUNE 13: Various teams of revenue and police officials headed by concerned Tehsildars conducted market checking at Haveli, Surankote, Mendhar, Balakote and Mandi tehsils, here today.
The inspection squads realized Rs 14970 from erring traders during inspection of various business establishments, mutton and chicken shops, vendors, dairy and sweet shops to check the quality of eatables being sold to the consumers.
The teams also destroyed degraded and outdated food items and directed the shopkeepers and owners of meat shops to display the rate lists of items as approved by the district administration from time to time.
The market checking was conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad in view of upcoming Eid ul Fitar. Revenue, Legal Metrology and Food and Civil Supplies authorities have been instructed to carry out intensive market checking drives throughout the district on regular basis in order to ensure that the customers are not fleeced by the shopkeepers and also quality eatables are provided to them.
