Srinagar, March 19: In an effort to retard the spread of coronavirus, the Administration on Thursday banned the movement of mini buses, cabs and auto rickshaws in Srinagar district. Public transport from other districts was also barred from entering Srinagar district.
Meanwhile, National Conference president and parliamentarian wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to restore 4G Internet service on mobile networks in Kashmir amidst the growing Covid-19 threat.
Abdullah was freed last Friday after seven months of detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
He said businesses were already suffering for want of communication, and now the lockdown would have a further effect. Internet would facilitate people to work from home.
