Srinagar, April 22: Four militants were killed in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said.
The encounter broke out between the security forces and militants in Melhoora, Zainapora, on Tuesday evening and continued on Wednesday morning.
“We launched a cordon and search operation after an input about the militants’ presence. As the search was being carried out, the militants fired at the security forces, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter,” a police officer said.
Four militants were killed,” he said.
