Chandigarh, April 27: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday shared a video of Sub-Inspector Harjeet Singh, who is recovering at PGIMER in Chandigarh after his hand was dismembered by ‘Nihangs’ earlier this month.

In his tweet, the chief minister said: “It has been 2 weeks since SI Harjeet Singh’s hand was operated upon in PGI. I am extremely happy to share that he is recovering well & that his hand has started to regain movement. Sharing this video of braveheart Harjeet Singh with you all.”

Shortly after the shocking clash with the ‘Nihangs’, a team of doctors at PGIMER had managed to successfully re-implant his left hand after a nearly eight-hour surgery.

In the video, the sub-inspector can be seen in high spirits as he responded to questions about his health. The 50-year-old managed to slightly move the fingers of his injured hand.

Singh was promoted to the rank of Sub Inspector (SI) in recognition of his exemplary courage.
