23 new positive cases reported today, 164 cases recovered till date in JK

JAMMU, APRIL 27: The Government Monday informed that 23 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), (22 from Kashmir division and 01 from Jammu division) have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 546.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 546 positive cases, 375 are Active Positive, 164 have recovered and 07 have died.

Furthermore, till date 67570 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which include 6320 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 259 in Hospital Quarantine, 375 in hospital isolation and 9984 under home surveillance. Besides, 50625 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The Bulletin further said that out of 14988 test results available, 14442 samples have tested as negative till April 27, 2020.

Moreover, 27 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals,18 from SKIMS Bemina, 02 from DH Shopian, 03 from DH Ganderbal, 01 from SKIMS Soura,02 from Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu and 01 from Chest Disease Hospital Jammu.

Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Bandipora reported 03 new cases today thus taking total number of cases in the district  to 127 positive cases wherein 102 are Active Positive, 24 recovered which includes 01 recovery today and 01 has died, Similarly, in Srinagar 01 new case was reported today thus taking total number of cases in the district to 86 positive cases with 35 Active Positive, 50 recovered which includes (13 new cases today) and  01 died; With 05 new positive cases, Shopian has 68 positive cases with 55 Active Positive, 13 recovered (02 new cases today); Baramulla also reported 05 cases taking total number of positive cases to 67 with 43 Active Positive, 21 recovered (4 new cases today), and 03 died; Anantnag district reported 06 new cases which led to 54 positive case and 53 are Active Positive, 01 died; Kupwara reported 01 new case today taking total to 48 positive cases with 39 Active Positive and 09 recovered (01 new cases today); Budgam also reported new 01 cases today, thus district has 15 positive cases of which 06 are Active Positive with 09 recovered cases; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases with 09 Active positive and 05 recovered (03 new cases today); Kulgam has 06 cases and all are Active Positive; Pulwama 03 positive cases who all have recovered.

Similarly, Jammu has 26 positive cases of whom 11 are Active Positive and 01 recovered today taking total number of recovered patients to 15, Udhampur 20 positive cases of which 08 are Active Positive, 11 recovered( including 02 cases today) and 01 died, while as Samba district has 04 positive cases and all are Active Positive; Rajouri has 04 positive cases, 01 active positive and 03 have recovered;  Kathua has 01 positive case who is active positive; Kishtwar had only 01 positive case who has recovered; Ramban has 01 positive case who is Active Positive;. Meanwhile, Reasi reported 01 positive case today.

The Bulletin said that the breakup represents districts from which the patients have been traced or are ordinarily residing.

According to the advisory issued in the media bulletin, it emphasized on early detection of COVID-19 to prevent the spread of disease. “Let us be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline Numbers and seek medical advice.”

Similarly, people are advised that, children must receive all the vaccine doses according to the Universal Immunization Programme to be fully protected against vaccine preventable diseases.

People are advised in case their child missed a scheduled vaccination due to COVID-19 pandemic, reach out to your vaccination provider to confirm when & how to receive any missed vaccine doses.

Advisory urged people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent handwashing.”

Similarly, all social, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited.

In case of any emergency people can avail free ambulance services 24×7 at their doorsteps by calling on toll-free number 108 while as pregnant women and sick infants can avail free ambulance services by dialling toll-free number 102.

People can also call on toll-free national helpline number 1075; J&K COVID-19 Helpline Numbers 0191- 2549676 (UT level Cell), 0191-2520982, 0191-2674444, 0191-2674115 (For Jammu Division), 0194-2440283 & 0194-2430581 (For Kashmir Division) for support, guidance, and response to health-related queries on Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

Public is advised to strictly follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time and are urged to rely only on the information released by the government through the daily media bulletin to print and electronic media.

People are also advised to refrain from spreading rumours and pay no heed to them at the same time.
