Mohali, May 9: A district court here on Saturday reserved its order for Monday on the anticipatory bail application of former Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini.

The hearing was held on the bail application of Saini in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Monika Goyal at the District Court Complex.

The counsel for Saini said the case was not maintainable as it had been rejected by the Supreme Court.

Complainant Palwinder Singh Multani, who had filed a case in Matour police station in Mohali, was not present and was represented by his counsel.

The counsel appearing for Saini, APS Deol, argued that the FIR registered in the matter after 29 years was not maintainable. It was also argued that there was nothing substantial against Saini. The only thing with the prosecution was a newspaper report, it was said.

It means there will be no relief for Saini at least till Monday.
