GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC JAMMU ORGANIZES ONLINE POETRY COMPETITION

Jammu: Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk, Jammu organized Online Poetry competition as a part of campaign Defeat Covid-19 Competition-VIII. The students were advised to submit their original poems in English, Hindi and Urdu to an email id along with their names and other details.
Sh Sajad Hussain Ganai, KAS, Director, Skill Development Department, J&K, appreciated the efforts of the college in organizing many activities and competitions since lockdown as a part of campaign Defeat Covid-19 to engage the students as it would help them in overcoming their fears about spread of Covid-19 and would also bring out the creativity of the students.
Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college appreciated the wholeheartedly participation of all the Students in the Poetry competition and said that best poems will be published in the forthcoming 5th Edition of College Annual Magazine ASPIRE.
A large number of the students participated in the Poetry competition and expressed their creativity. The First Position in Poetry Competition went to Apurva Mishra, 2nd semester, Information Technology for her Poem “Prakrti”. While, the Second position was shared by Sahil Bhat, 6th Semester, Computer Engineering for Poem “Corona or Karma” and Rohit Kumar Attri of 2nd Semester, Civil Engg for his poem “Baal Mazdoor”. The 3rd prize was also shared by Girish Kumar, 2nd semester, Civil Engg for Poem “Story of Earth” and Ashish Balotra, 6th semester, Electrical Engineering for Poem “Carona and Quarantine”
The work of the students was judged by faculty members Ms Vandana Chib, Lecturer, Electrical Engg, Ms Devika Bhardwaj, Demonstrator Electrical Engg and Ms Saba Sheikh, Demonstrator, Architecture Assistanship.
Government Polytechnic Jammu is effectively conducting the Online class, Webinars and various Online activities/competitions for students through Google Classrooms, Google Hangout, Zoom App, WebEx, Whatsup, GoMeeting and Youtube channels since lockdown for the Polytechnic students of all the semester and branches.
