Court asks ACB to file supplimenatay charges in Gulmarg Land Scam

Advisor to Lt. Governor and other senior officers are accused in the case

Jammu, June 12: Special Judge Anti-corruption Baramulla Naseer Ahmad Dar in a significant order has directed further investigation in case FIR no. 8/2009 PSVOK (Infamous Gulmarg Land Scam) and has further directed the Anti-corruption Bureau J&K to submit supplementary charge sheet before the court within a period of four months from the date of the receipt of the order. The court has fixed up the matter alongwith supplementary chargesheet on October 10, 2020.

There are twenty accused in the infamous Gulmarg Land Scam and the prominent accused are Mehboob Iqbal (IAS) the then Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan (IAS) the then deputy commissioner Baramulla and presently advisor to LG J&K UT, hoteliers of Kashmir Valley Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, Mushtaq Ahmad Burza, Manzoor Ahmad Burza, Sayeed Musadiq Shah, Khursheed Ahmad Salmani, Mohammad Afzal Khandey and a score of middle rung revenue officials.

While directing further investigation the special judge anti-corruption Baramulla observed and directed that before taking any decision on the point of framing of charge/discharge at this stage, it is deemed appropriate to direct the investigating agency to investigate further on the aspect what impact the documents/material mentioned in the order would have on the involvement of the accused/matter on controversy and ACB shall submit supplementary chargesheet before this court within a period of four months.

The documents/material are finding mention in the judgement of the high court dated 15-10-2018 and the said documents pertain to the opinion of the law department and the opinion tendered by Advocate General J&K.
