ASHOK KUMAR DEMANDS COVID-19 PREVENTIVE VACCINATION FOR ALL FRONT LINE WARRIORS OF J&K

Ramban, 21-04-21: Ashok Kumar, Former MLA from Ramban has demanded immediate vaccination of Covid-19 for All frontline Warriors including Teachers in all Educational institutiion, government employees, shopkeepers, small Traders and vendors and drivers and conductors of all commercial and passenger vehicles as there is resurgence of Covid-19 positive cases in Union territory and erstwhile India. In a statement issued here “He said government should strengthen its mitigation policies and its primary focus should be to combat an pandemic in order to slow the spread of covid-19 in all frontline workers who are risking their lives to serve the people of India.

Ashok further said that the world has endured a year of the unexpected onslaught by novel Covid-19 virus. Undoubtedly, the virus has posed a unprecedented challenge for Policy making nationally and locally. However, it becomes imperative for the government of India to save all the frontline Warriors for smooth functioning of all government institutional and other informal private sectors. He quoted from Mahabharata “ Saving a life that is in jeopardy is the origin of dharma”.

Ashok has also expressed concern for the vendors, drivers and small Traders who are totally dependent on everyday Income and sustain their livelihood. However, the new lockdown measures of 50 percent opening is going to damage their everyday livelihood. He has demanded to provide financial package to all such people before farming such policies. He said the country is already on the Economic halt due to unprecedented resurgence of Covid-19 second wave. The new lockdown measures is not in compliance with the poor people. It can result into starvation of poor people. It becomes essential for government to reform Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna in this context.

Ashok has appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to follow the NPIs (Non Pharmaceutical Interventions) which include both actions that Individual and household can take ( e.g. frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and keeping a distance for sick people and social distancing policies that Communities can enact to limit the spread of disease and reducing the number of deaths. He also said that the people should refrain themselves from false propaganda in this regard.
