Udhampur: A pledge taking ceremony was organized in the schools and Education Department offices of District Udhampur to celebrate the National Voters Day.
The main event was held at Chief Education Office, Udhampur, where a pledge taking ceremony was organised to commemorate the “National Voters Day” under the guidance of CEO, Udhampur Mr. Arvin Kumar Koul along with all staff members keeping in view the theme for this year National Voters Day celebration – “Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative”.
Students and Staff members of various schools in district udhampur also took pledge which was administered by their respective HOI’s.
6457 students of 1222 schools participated in the program to make it successful.
Based on this year theme, a series of events like debate,rangoli making, poster making, essay and slogan writing etc were organized by the schools via online mode for creating awareness among youth, employees and their family membersand reminding them to register the newly eligible youth(18+) in the electoral roll. The events were organised to promote awareness among people about electoral process as well. Educational Institutions celebrate this day with a lot of gaiety.
CEO Udhampur encouraged the participants and provided valuable insights.In his message he said that by conducting such type of programmes in schools make the youths more aware and vigilant. We should always respect the valuable right to vote, he added.
