Udhampur: Today on 19-02-2002, Principal Secretary School Education Sh. B.K Singh along with CEO Udhampur visited various schools of district Udhampur and interacted with staff and students of the schools.
He first visited Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Udhampur where staff and students gave a warm welcome to him. While interacting with the students Pr. Secretary laid emphasis on thorough study and understanding the basic concepts of any subject in respect of its relation to daily life rather than cramming the subject.
He laid stress on following all Covid SOPs during offline classes.
Later he interacted with staff of the school and instructed them to rationalise the enrolment in various subjects on the basis of staff availability to have manageable number of students in a class.
He directed the Principal of the school to arrange adequate sports material and construct a basketball court in the premises.
He also instructed to take immediate steps with concerned agencies to dismantle old rooms and remodel the school.
Students and staff also presented a welcome song in honour of the dignitary.
After that Pr. Secretary visited Govt. High School Mand where he inaugurated basketball court in presence of CEO and DYSSO Udhampur.5
Here also, he interacted with staff and students. While interacting with students of class 9th, he advised them to study with understanding and directed the Headmaster to increase the enrolment of students.
A momento and bouquet was presented to the Pr. Secretary as a mark of respect by DYSSO and CEO Udhampur.
Lastly he visited Hr. Sec. School Tikri. He was pleased to see confidence and prompt response of students while interacting with them.
He directed the Principal of the institution to provide adequate games/sports material to students, develop infrastructure for outdoor sports.
Teachers and students were exhorted to move from rote learning to competency learning so that students could have better concepts of subject. It will enhance the success rate of students in competitive exam.
Rationalisation of lecturer student ratio requires to be reviewed so that proper care of students can be taken in 11th and 12th class.
