Kathua, 21-06-2022. The 8th International Yoga Day was celebrated across various venues in district Kathua. Several schools from all the zones of the district despite the ongoing summer vacations marked their attendance in large numbers and participated in the event with enthusiasm. Many students and teachers participated in several events at different venues.
Marking the event, many teachers and students from zones Kathua, Lakhanpur and Barnoti participated in International Yog Diwas organized by the district administration at sports stadium Kathua. Several prominent personalities along with several Zonal Education Officers, Principals and Headmasters from various zones attended the event. The event was also graced by the presence of Mr. P.L.Thapa, Chief Education Officer, Kathua. The Officer said that it is worth appreciating to see the level of participation from the representatives of the education sector in such events. Mr Thapa said that as the education sector guides and precedes the other social sectors, it becomes important for the education sector to make these events successful and lead others by example.
The Officer also mentioned that the International Yoga Day has marked our nation as a global leader and to commemorate the same, the schools across the whole district are participating in the event. The students who are participating in initiatives such as CaMal ka camp and the students and teachers from far-flung zones such as Bani are also contributing to the event by way of participation.
Many attendees of the event also participated via social platforms and shared the proceeding via social media.
