Pesident Ram Nath Kovind has approved Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. The President gave the approval after a report in this regard was submitted to him by Jammu Kashmir Governor NN Vohra yesterday.
After the split between the ruling BJP-PDP coalition yesterday, Governor NN Vohra held consultations with all political parties in the state about alternatives to form government in the present circumstances.
He then forwarded his report to the President of India for imposition of Governor’s Rule under Section 92 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
