Five Day Farmers Centric Training Programme concludes at JU’s Poonch Campus

Poonch April 01 : The Five Day Farmers Centric Training Programme concluded here today

 

The training program was organized to provide information,/Training about the latest techniques in Sericulture, a “Five Day Farmers Centric Training Programme” was organized by Poonch Campus in collaboration with SKC-GDC Poonch at adopted Village Dingla Poonch w.e.f. March 28th to April 01st, 2023.

 

The five days training programme was part of the MoU Annual Academic Calendar 2023-2024.

 

Farmers, People representatives, Rubina Anjum, (Sarpanch), Mr. Amin (Naib Sarpanch) and Miss Parveen and Miss Mehmooda Panches from Village Dingla and its adjoining areas were part of this Training Programme.

 

Chairman District Development Council Poonch Mtrm Tazeem Akther who was the Chief Guest on the occasion congratulated both Poonch Campus and SKC-GDC Poonch for organizing such training programmes. She said that such farmers training programmes will go a long way in benefitting and enhancing the financial income of the farmers. “The efforts put forthwith by the Dr Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer in organizing this event is highly appreciable and remarkable,”She added

 

During the Five Days Farmers Centric Training Programme, experts from the field of Sericulture and allied fields are; Dr. Harjeet Singh Incharge Mulberry circle Tharakalwa, Kathua, Dr. Muzafar Mir Scientist Horticulture, KVK, Poonch, Ms. Avinder Kour Sericulture Assistant Incharge Poonch Circle, Mr. Mohd Riaz Incharge State Department of Sericulture,

Lamberi Circle, Rajouri gave a detailed information about the latest techniques being used for the promotion of Sericulture besides this, students of both Poonch campus and SKC-GDC also expressed their views

 

Director Poonch Campus Prof. Dipankar Sengupta said that “Our Prime Minister has a dream of achieving ‘Aatamnirbhar Bharat,’ which can only be fulfilled if we can stand on our own two feet.” He said adding that the programmes would provide a lot of benefits to the participants especially farmers and students.

 

He congratulated all the faculty of both the Institutes and the main stakeholders for making this Training Programme successful.

 

Principal SKC GDC Poonch Prof. Jasbir Singh in his address while congratulating Director Poonch Campus Prof Dipankar Sengupta and MoU Coordinator/Campus officer Dr Rubia Bukhari for their tireless efforts in collaborating with GDC Poonch and making this event successful and beneficial for farmers and students.

He also hailed the efforts of SKC GDC Poonch MoU Coordinator Prof G. R. Verma for making this event successful.

 

BDO Loran Mr Zamood Ahmad while speaking on the occasion said that such programs did not exist previously; they are just taking place now. Farmers and students will definitely learn from this program. He further complemented the Poonch Campus and SKC-GDC Poonch, adding that it was because of them that the main stakeholders such as farmers and students were able to participate in sericulture training and learn something new.

 

Prof. Gurvinder Raj Verma MoU Coordinator and HoD Department of Sericulture SKC-GDC Poonch said that the goal of the training programme is to bring new technology to farmers to increase their revenue. He gave a lecture on various characteristics of silk fibres.

 

He further informed that during the current academic session many many activities will be organized in which all the stakeholders will be taken on board,”

 

 

Dr Rubia Bukhari MoU Coordinator/Campus officer Poonch Campus in her keynote address thanked all the stakeholders for making this Training Programme successful. “After the Signing of MoU with GDC Poonch, an annual academic calendar 2023-24 was prepared and today’s activity is part of that academic calendar.

 

She further said that during this training programme attempts were made to provide maximum information to the farmers about the importance of Sericulture and its benefits through renowned experts and resource persons.

 

Dr Rubia Bukhari said that the major goal of this programme was to make sericulture farmers aware of the most modern techniques offered in the field, the implementation of which will assist enhance their revenue.

 

She further thanked Prof. Dipankar Sengupta Director Poonch Campus for provided the platform, guidance, support and encouragement for conducted the programme.

 

Present on the occasion were faculty of SKC-GDC Poonch Mr. Fateh Mohd Abbasi Assistant Professor Dr. Zakir Hussain Kalis HOD English and faculty of Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus Dr. Suraksha Chanotra, Miss Kalpna Sudan, non teaching staff members PCJU Mr Mohd Sageer, Mr Sandeep and Mr Arjun.

 

Students of Poonch Campus and SKC GDC Poonch, Farmers from village Dingla and its adjoining areas attended the Valedictory programme.

 

Chairman District Development Council Poonch Mtrm Tazeem Akther along with other dignitaries distributed Certificate and Memento among the students and farmers.

 

The valedictory function of the Farmer Centric Training Programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Miss Kalpna Sudan.
