JU’s Poonch Campus organized Cleanliness drive in commemoration of World NSS Day

Poonch September 25 : In observance of World NSS (National Service Scheme) Day, a significant cleanliness drive was organized at the Poonch Campus, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to community service and environmental stewardship. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and non teaching staff members, all eager to contribute to the noble cause of keeping the campus and its surroundings clean and green.

The cleanliness drive, organized by the NSS I/C of Poonch Campus Miss Kalpna Sudan, witnessed an impressive turnout of volunteers. Equipped with cleaning tools and a fervent spirit, the participants enthusiastically took up the task of clearing litter, debris and maintaining hygiene across the campus premises.

Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid in his message congratulated students, faculty and staff for carrying out cleanliness drive. The Director expressed his appreciation for the wholehearted involvement of students, faculty members and non teaching staff members. He emphasized the importance of community engagement and the role of NSS in shaping responsible citizens and fostering a sense of duty towards society.

“ The initiative aligned with the larger mission of NSS to instill a sense of social responsibility and environmental consciousness among the youth. It emphasized the importance of active civic engagement and encouraged students to take part in activities that enhance the well-being of their communities,” Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid added.

Addressing the participants, Campus Officer Dr Rubia Bukhari expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming response and commitment displayed by the volunteers. She highlighted the significance of community service and urged everyone to make it a regular part of their lives.

She highlighted the need for maintaining a clean and hygienic campus environment. She encouraged everyone to carry forward the spirit of community service beyond this event and integrate it into their daily lives.

Furthering the motivational discourse, the In-Charge of NSS Unit at Poonch Campus, Miss Kalpana Sudan addressed the gathering. She spoke about the principles of NSS and it’s objective of instilling social responsibility among youth. She urged students to actively engage in community service and be the agents of positive change in society.

The cleanliness drive successfully showcased the dedication and zeal of the Poonch Campus community in contributing to the betterment of their environment. It underscored the importance of collective efforts in maintaining a clean and sustainable living space for all.
