Kathua: Deepak Sharma, a dedicated teacher from Upper Primary School (UPS) Rajbagh, Kathua, has successfully secured sponsorship from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Trainings (CCRT), Delhi, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, to establish a Cultural Club at his school.

The landmark Cultural Club was formally inaugurated today by, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kathua, Kishor Kumar, marking a significant milestone in the cultural and educational landscape of Kathua district.

The inaugural ceremony, held at UPS Rajbagh, wherein CEO Kathua Kishor Kumar, commended Deepak Sharma’s initiative in bringing this unique opportunity to the students. This Cultural Club, sponsored by CCRT, is the first of its kind in Kathua district and only the second in the entire Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, highlighting its exceptional significance.

Deepak Sharma’s relentless efforts and dedication have borne fruit, as his school now boasts the privilege of hosting this Cultural Club. This initiative will serve as a platform for students to explore and enhance their understanding of various artistic and cultural expressions within the realm of education.

Acknowledging the significance of this endeavor, CEO Kathua emphasized its alignment with the objectives of the New Education Policy 2020, emphasizing the importance of holistic development through co-curricular activities alongside academics.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Kathua Karamjeet Singh, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Kathua, Aradhana Devi, along with their respective staff members. Also in attendance were Monika Khosla from District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kathua, Rishi Tangri from Zonal Institute of Education and Training (ZIET) Kathua, and all staff members of UPS Rajbagh.

The Head of the Institution Tilak Raj, expressed his gratitude through a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that made this initiative possible. He said that this Cultural Club will not only enrich the educational experience of students but also contribute significantly to their cultural development, fostering a well-rounded learning environment at UPS Rajbagh.
