Dobsonian Telescope used to observe ‘Sun Spots’ at GHSS Pallan, District Kathua under Astro Physics- Aaghaaz Labs

Kathua 21-02-2024: An impressive first of its kind session on using Dobsonian Telescope for observing solar events and phenomenon was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Pallan of district Kathua. About sixty students took part in the event and observed the dark spots on the surface of the Sun under the able supervision of mentor Kamal Kishore, incharge of Astro Physics Lab was organized under the able guidance of Mr. Mohinder Jalmeria, Principal, GHSS Pallan.

The students of the schools keenly took part in the event and learned about different solar concepts included practical demonstrations
The event was under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha initiative ‘Astro Physics-Aaghaaz Labs’ in collaboration with prestigious IIT Kanpur who had also provided trained guides Mr. Manpreet Singh & Mr. Rishav Gupta. About eighteen schools of district Kathua had already been benefitted by the same session and the program is planned to cover more schools in coming weeks.
