Kathua: Today, on dated 04-03-2024 a meeting regarding formulation of School Complex was held at the Government Higher Secondary School(Boys) Kathua. The central theme of this conference was to deliberate and plan for efficient resourcing and effective governance through the establishment of school complexes. These school complexes, as outlined in Chapter 7 of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), represent a crucial shift towards a more efficient and comprehensive approach to education.
The meeting was presided over by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) and District Education Planning officer (DEPO) of Kathua. The CEO’s presence underscored the seriousness and high stakes of the meeting. The attendees of this crucial conference included all complex heads, who are essentially the Principals of GHSS. They represented various zones including Kathua, Barnoti, Lakhanpur, Sallan, Marheen, and Hiranagar. The participation of such influential figures not only underlined the importance of the issues being discussed but also indicated a collective determination to bring about necessary changes in the education system.
A key point on the meeting’s agenda was the formulation of the ‘school complexes’ concept which was given in series of Govt orders vide GO No 2173 JK(Edu) of 2022 and GO No 152 JK(Edu) of 2024. The officer gives stress on special campaign for 1.5 months wef 01-03-2024 to 15-04-2024 in order to strengthen clusters and also gives directions to Cluster heads to prepare minutes of meetings for further submission to the higher authorities.
