DODA, February 21 – In a bid to address drug abuse, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda, Mohammad Hafiz, convened a virtual meeting with the District Incharge Cultural Cell (DICC) and Zonal Incharges Cultural Cells (ZICCs) to discuss the implementation of an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign aimed at students across the district.

The initiative, a collaboration between the Social Welfare Department and the School Education Department of Doda, seeks to educate students about the dangers of drug addiction. The goal is to equip them with knowledge to resist peer pressure and make healthier life choices.

CEO Hafiz directed the DICC and the ten ZICCs to partner with teachers in each zone to hold awareness camps every Monday in all 237 Panchayats of the district. These sessions will focus on the harmful effects of drug use, identifying early signs of addiction, and promoting positive lifestyle alternatives.

Emphasizing the importance of a coordinated approach, Hafiz called for regular monitoring and assessment of the campaign’s impact. To ensure accountability, DICC and ZICC officials are required to submit action reports after each session, outlining the activities carried out, the number of students reached, and any challenges faced.

This joint effort highlights the commitment of both departments to combating drug abuse at the grassroots level, with the aim of spreading crucial awareness to students across the district.
