Doda, February 22 – A major advancement in educational infrastructure for the Gandoh region of Doda district was made today with the formalization of a land lease agreement between the School Education Department of Doda and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). This agreement transfers 10.25 acres of land to KVS, marking the beginning of the establishment of a new Kendriya Vidyalaya in the region.
The move, guided by Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh IAS and Director of School Education Jammu Ashok Sharma JKAS, is aimed at improving access to high-quality education in a region previously underserved in terms of educational facilities. The initiative has also received strong backing from local political representatives, including Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly, Daleep Singh Parihar, underscoring a united effort from both local and regional authorities.
The land lease agreement was formally executed at the office of Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Gandoh, Arun Badyal JKAS, where the official handover of the documents took place. The Chief Education Officer of Doda, Mohammad Hafiz, oversaw the proceedings, reflecting the importance of the initiative for the district’s educational landscape.
Key figures from the education sector, including the Principal of Higher Secondary School Gandoh and the Principal of the proposed Kendriya Vidyalaya, were present to lend their support to this historic agreement.
CEO Doda stated, “This lease agreement is a vital step in ensuring that the students of Gandoh receive an education of the highest standard. The establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya will provide them with access to the CBSE curriculum and a world-class educational environment.”
