POK BOY REPATRIATED ON HLUMANITARIAN GROUNDS

Md Abdullah, son of Mr Sarfaraz, resident of Degwar Tehsil, Haveli District, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, who had inadvertently crossed the LoC in Poonch Sector is being repatriated today at about 1430 hours at Chakan Da Bagh crossing point in Poonch district.
The 11 year old boy had been apprehended by alert Indian Army troops on 24 June 18 in Degwar area of Poonch district and had been handed over to the J&K Police on the same day. The J&K Police have carried out the necessary formalities for his repatriation.
Md Abdullah has been released on humanitarian grounds, owing to his young age and to boost the confidence building measures between India and Pakistan. He has been presented a set of new clothes and a box of sweets. Indian Army stands by its ethos of being a humane force and maintains sensitivity while dealing with innocent civilians.
