DDC Ganderbal flags off first batch of Amaranth Yatra from Baltal

BALTAL (GANDERBAL), JUNE 28 : District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Dr piyush Singla today flagged off first batch of Yatris, pilgrims of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra from DOMAIL-BALTAL to holy cave, here today.

The Yatris were seen enthusiastic on the occasion when they stepped towards the Holy Cave.

The Camp Director, Baltal, Sachin Dev Singh; SSP Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad; SSP Yatra, Sandeep Wazir and other concerned Officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC while wishing the Yatris a happy and safe Yatra, said that all out efforts of security and other welfare related issues have been taken in consideration by the government to ensure a successful Yatra.

The DDC also spent yester night at Baltal base camp and held a review meeting of all nodal Officers at 9.30 pm to oversee the arrangements being made for Yatris. The DDC expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments including PHE, R&B, Information, Health, PDD etc.

The DDC also gave many on Spot directions to further improve the quality of facilities in the Camp areas of Baltal and holy Cave. He directed concerned Officers of PDD to provide uninterrupted power supply in the camp areas of the Holy Cave and Baltal.

He also asked Officers to work in coordination and facilitate the Yatris in a better way.

Earlier DDC visited Transit Camp Manigam and reviewed the arrangements. He went along various departmental camps stalls including Health, AYUSH and Information etc. He also inspected Langars providing free food to the yatries.

Among others, Camp Director Baltal, Sachin Dev Singh, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad, SSP Yatra Sandeep Wazir, SSP Security Yatra, SDM Kangan and other concerned Officers were present on the occasion.
