ADC reviews functioning of Health Department

RAJOURI, JUNE 29: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka Shafiq Ahmed today reviewed the functioning of health department in block Kandi here at a meeting with the concerned officers and officials.

The meeting was attended by Block Medical Officer (BMO), Community Health Officers and other officials of the department.

The BMO Kandi Dr Iqbal Malik informed the meeting that Sub Centres Kandra, Hayatwali, Kalachanger, Najeri Jamola, Muruta and Chamitrar have been made functional by internal arrangement in compliance to directions of DDC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.

The meeting held point wise review of JSY, JSSK, RBSK, immunization, RKS, status of construction work of various buildings of PHC, NTPHC, Health Sub Centres and allopathic dispensaries and creation of additional infrastructure at sub-district hospitals/CHC/PHCs besides repair and compound walling of health institutions.

Executing agencies were asked to ensure that all health institutions of Block Kandi are provided water and electricity and construction work of main buildings is completed in stipulated time period.

Stressing upon the importance of revenue entries of lands and buildings of the department to discourage encroachments, the ADC directed the BMO to endeavour to retrieve the encroached land with the help of revenue authorities, get it demarcated and ensure entry in revenue records.

The meeting also embarked on the issue of shortage of ambulances and staff in the Block. It was informed that all ambulances of CHC Kandi are off the road and there is a dire need of this facility in the hospital. The BMO was directed to take up matter with higher authorities for writing off all dead stock and also send requisition for new ones.

The ADC also reviewed the availability of diagnostic facilities in the Block and peripheral hospitals, medical supplies position and availability of essential drugs.

Regarding shortage of staff in the block, the ADC directed the BMO to implement the directions of DDC Rajouri for cancellation of all attachments and initiate stringent action against officials who do not join back at the original place of posting.

Grievances of the employees were also listed in the meeting and on spot decisions were taken.

The BMO was asked to implement the decisions taken in the review meeting of health sector by DDC Rajouri regarding the punctuality and observance of dress code by the staff.
