KUPWARA, JULY 01: District administration Kupwara has reiterated its resolve to transform the development scenario of the district and make it one of the better performing districts under the ‘Transformation of Aspirational Districts’ programme.
Under the recently launched programme, 115 districts are competing in 49 parameters pertaining to improved health and nutrition, better education, agriculture, infrastructure, financial inclusion and skill development.
The initial ranking of Niti Ayog has put the district Kupwara in the slow improving districts. The district administration has said that other districts of Country are comparatively better placed and have many initial advantages which Kupwara hasn’t owing to its remoteness, tough terrain and other disadvantageous conditions.
“However, at the same time, Prabhari Officers from Government of India have appreciated the action plan framed by the district administration and the robust roadmap laid to achieve the goals,” the district administration said.
Pertinently, the district has achieved 100 per cent Open Defecation Free status in the month of June against the target deadline of August 15. Similarly visible activities are witnessed all across the district and officers are working very hard to achieve the set targets.
